Introducing COVA Connect
The Commonwealth of Virginia is launching an innovative health care pilot to employees in Hampton Roads beginning July 1. COVA Connect will be offered to all employees eligible for the state health plan who have zip code addresses in the pilot area. Premiums will be the same and benefits will be comparable to COVA Care. If you are a COVA Care member living in the pilot area, you will be enrolled automatically in COVA Connect with any buy-up option you have selected.

Use Your New Health Plan ID Card Beginning July 1
Benefit changes for state health plans take effect on July 1. State health plan members enrolled in COVA Care, COVA Connect and new COVA HDHP members should receive their health plan ID cards soon. Remember to present your new ID card for medical, prescription drug, behavioral health or dental services you receive on or after July 1.

Library of Virginia Offers Assistance
With so many job openings being posted only online and the Virginia Employment Commission encouraging those seeking unemployment insurance to use their online services, the Library of Virginia has offered to help. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 to 1:30 staff members of the Library of Virginia will be on hand in their first floor computer lab to assist those who are either looking for a job or filing for unemployment insurance. Library staff is unable to provide career counseling or unemployment information but will be glad to assist with online employment applications.

The VCU Rehabilitation and Retention Training Center (VCU-RRTC) on Workplace Supports and Job Retention is offering a free Disability Awareness HR Management Online Seminar to human resource professionals. This seminar will focus on current history, myths and facts, research, tips for communication, tips for interviewing, and tips for accommodations relating to employing individuals with disabilities.
